2024 Annual Meeting Calculator for CBCA Companies

CAUTION: Lexata's content was last updated in 2024 and may not reflect current securities regulatory requirements.
Using notice-and-access requires exemptions from the CBCA requirements to mail proxy circulars and financial statements. Corporations Canada has published templates for these exemption applications. They can be found in the Annexes of the Policy Statements that are linked inside this document: Using notice-and-access under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
See Legal vs. Practical Deadlines at the end of this calculator regarding newspaper publications.
Although the CBCA permits sending meeting materials up to 21 days before the meeting, when using notice-and-access, the longer 30-day period (plus 3 extra business days when sending via intermediaries using first class mail) is applicable. Also, see Legal vs. Practical deadlines at the end of this calculator regarding sending meeting materials.
